Christmas Gift Guide
My husband always used to say that I am the most difficult person to buy gifts for. "What do you buy the person who has everything?" I certainly do not have everything-- but he knows that I already have everything that I need and want because I simply don't like having a lot of things. To be honest, I prefer quality time over (physical) gifts.
If your love language is gift-giving and you absolutely must buy a present for an "impossible to buy a gift for" person like me, here's some help for you to think outside the box 😉
1. Quality time together
Tickets to a musical or her favorite museum, the promise of a weekend getaway in the new year, or a picnic in the park. This is definitely the kind of gift that I love because it means quality time spent with my loved ones. If you don't like the idea of not giving something wrapped in a box, consider a gift card or something she can wear or use at the special outing and include a sweet note detailing the experience to come.
St. Tropez hat- a hat that simply screams "vacation" will get her excited for a weekend getaway or staycation when the sun comes back out to play.
Donut towel- this soft roundie is wonderful for laying out on the beach, a picnic in the park, or cozying up by the fire to roast marshmallows.
2. Spa Day
I know... most spas aren't open right now, but you can give the gift of a spa day at home. Here are some of my favorite sets for self-care.
Polish and Protect Lip Duo- When summer ends and fall starts to roll around, my lips tend to get drier and more chapped. This duo is a quick and easy way to keep lips smooth and soft all winter.
Bath Renewal Set- this dry brush is perfect for everyday exfoliating in the shower/bath, especially when paired with the sugar scrub to polish and brighten skin. The body oil will help moisturize skin, especially as the weather becomes cooler and drier.
Bright Side Duo- I use this All Bright C serum every day! It is the best product for fading scars and dark spots (I've even used it on my legs for scars I got this summer from mosquito bites). I cannot recommend it enough. The set comes with the Overnight Resurfacing Peel, which is super gentle and gets rid of dull skin. I use it once a week and always wake up knowing that my skin will look more glowy in the morning.
3. A day off
Sometimes the best gift is a 'getaway' from everyday life. Give her a day off.
Hire a cleaning service to deep clean the house one day (I cannot tell you how many times my friends and I have dreamt of having a cleaning service).
Serve her breakfast, lunch, and/or dinner in bed so she can kick back and relax. Stream her favorite tv show or give her a copy of her most-loved book.
Hire a babysitter, so she can have 'me time' outside of the house- give her a gift card to her hair salon, cafe, or donut shop.
Remember, the best gifts are given from the heart-- don't just give a gift because you feel obligated to. Think about what would spark some joy in her life. We could all certainly use more joy in our lives these days!
